FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive to the ceremony location by 3:30pm. There will be live music and Prosecco at 3:30 so if you arrive late, no Prosecco for you!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

There is no formal dress code, but we invite you to join the Halloween weekend vibe with muted colors (including but not limited to: plum, forest/mossy green, gold, dusty pink/mauve, rust, wine or black). We have no opinions on the presence of ties or jackets, or of pantyhose or dress length. Remember the ceremony will be outdoors, so layers are encouraged. For outfit inspiration, think: semi-formal, late-Autumn, spooky, moody tones with Victorian Renaissance woodland vibes. You are the Lady of a great house but you’re also a witch and need to run through the woods tonight. You've been invited to go hunting with the Earl, but he might be hunting you. You are the ghost that haunts the mansion in your coming-out dress from the London Season. If this stumps you, a black dress is perfectly fine.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is parking at Spillian just steps from the building (just follow the signs as you drive up the driveway, it's the last left before you reach the house). Please carpool if you can and make sure you have a designated driver if you'll be imbibing with us!

Question

Can I get a Lyft/Uber to my hotel at the end of the night?

Answer

Unfortunately this is the middle of the mountains so no! Please come with a designated driver or pre-book a local cab company to get you at 11:30 when you’re done dancing.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have included a small registry on this website for gifts that we would enjoy, but after living together for many years we don't need much! We look forward to enjoying your presence at our ceremony and celebration.

Question

Are you changing your names?

Answer

No! Cards can be addressed to "Dr. McCaffrey and Mr. Nicholson".

Question

Can I have a plus one?

Answer

We'd love to have everybody with us, but have had to keep the guest list rather small due to the size of our venue. Invitations are addressed specifically to who is invited, so if it says "YOUR NAME & guest" that means you are welcome to bring a guest-- if it only says your name, you're flying solo! But we promise you can sit with your friends at dinner and hope you will have fun no matter what.
