It was September 18th 2016 when Allen got up early that morning and claimed he had to do some work stuff in Portland. Little did I know he had been teaming up with my best friend for weeks picking out my engagement ring. Before he left we had discussed going hiking when he got back, the weather was kind of cloudy and rainy so I watched the weather while he was gone. It appeared that the weather was going to clear out so when he got back we decided to go hike Mount Blue in Weld, Maine. What had been noted as an easy hike turned into an all afternoon adventure straight up to the sky. I was still nursing an ankle injury from roller derby in July and all He kept saying was if you make it to the top it will be worth it. Worth it it was! We got to the top overlooking all the water and mountains around us from the fire tower. Much like a princess overlooking her kingdom. I was enjoying the view when I turned around to look at him, he was down on one knee and popped the question. After some tears, of course I said Yes!!!!!
It was The Friday after Thanksgiving in 2015 when we started chatting on an online website and hit it off. Allen was in Maine from Connecticut visiting his grandmother and family for Thanksgiving. No seriously, this is not some Match.com or EHamrony ad, this is how we met! We ended up chatting all day long and decided to meet up at a pool hall in Waterville that night. Well, that is, after Taylor got cold feet and canceled plans and then changed her mind and decided to meet Allen. Taylor flirted with Allen quite a bit that night, he would tell you that he had no idea what she was thinking and she definitely kept him on his toes. He will also tell you that her pool game is awful but he at least entertained her god awful shots that she made. We were inseparable the rest of the weekend and so our adventure began!
