Our Whole World (although not in attendance)
Matron of Honor
Emily is the bride’s older sister and lifelong confidant. From the very beginning, the two have done most things together—sharing long family car rides, whispered secrets, and putting on their famously ambitious (if under-attended) trampoline trick shows. Over time, their bond has only deepened into a friendship that distance—even Emily living in Germany—could never diminish. When she’s not catching up with Laura on FaceTime, Emily spends her time providing pro bono immigrant legal services, traveling with her husband, Sari, walking the Beast, or enthusiastically trying to convince others to embrace veganism. Some of Laura’s favorite childhood memories are with Emily, especially their summers spent camping, where they fully committed to their alter egos, Wog and Paprika. We’ll let everyone else try to figure out who was who. Laura couldn’t imagine this day without Emily by her side and feels incredibly lucky to have her not just as a sister, but as a best friend.
Best Man
John is Will's younger brother and Best Man. When John isn't working, you can find him with his wife Danielle and their pets, baking bread, or working to gain the affection of the nearest dog. One of Will's favorite memories with John happened near the end of a summer when they were in their early teens. Their dad let them play hooky from school so that they could all head out to Lake Michigan for a day of body surfing. It was late enough in the season that you wouldn't have bet on the weather cooperating, but the sun held, the waves were perfect, and the whole day turned into the afternoon that Will still thinks fondly of.
Bridesmaid
Bree is the bride's cousin, but in many ways, she has been more of a sibling. Growing up, Bree and Laura would spend countless weekends having sleepovers, practicing dance routines, swimming, and crafting inside jokes. From childhood adventures to life's biggest milestones, Bree has been a constant in Laura's life. Laura's favorite memories with Bree include their countless roundtrip adventures and some very questionable h(m)otels. During college, Laura and Bree were the queens of last-minute road trips, protests, and concerts. Including one - incredibly lucky - free concert, followed by a late drive back to Michigan…where there were causalities we don't want to discuss. Bree spends her time with her girlfriend Devin, at comic cons, or answering ad hoc pop culture questions Laura has.
Groomsman
Kaden has been a friend of Will's for over a decade, including a period of time being roommates. Wills favorite memories with Kaden include their roadside grill station at their apartment on Wealthy. Just two men with a vision (and no yard), learned the art of grilling on the sidewalk. Kaden spends his time with his soon-to-be-wife, Shauna, on house projects, and being several people's best friend.
Bridesmaid
Elizabeth, Abby, and Laura found each other freshman year of college. Over the years, Elizabeth has shown up for all of it - the good nights, the hard ones, and the ones that were somehow both. Some of their best memories are also their most unglamorous — Laura riding in Elizabeth's trunk to the beach the night they met, summers spent in Laura's backyard until 2am, and one very memorable evening in an empty GVSU library conference room where someone laughed so hard they peed themselves. (then didn't confess to the other person for years...). Elizabeth is the kind of friend who shows up every time. Laura is so lucky to have her here today. Elizabeth spends her time with her boyfriend Zach, being our travel navigator, or training for her next half-marathon.
Groomsman
Gabe is one of the groom's oldest friends. He and Will share a long history with the Felt Estate. They've regularly visited the disc golf course since high school, and Will feels very fortunate to keep that tradition alive at the Felt Estate with Gabe by his side on his wedding day. Gabe spends his time tinkering with tools in his hand or with his girlfriend Kaiti.
Bridesmaid
Abby and Laura became roommates freshman year of college, thrown together by chance after both going into roommate matching blind. Their early memories included euchre nights (defined by Laura's irrational confidence), movie nights in the kitchen, and late-night ice cream runs /confessions. What started in a dorm room became one of the steadiest friendships of Laura's life. Through every move, career shift, and growing pain of actual adulthood, Abby has been the anchor and support in Laura's life. Abby spends her time with her family and her boyfriend, Joe, who are two of Laura and Will's favorite people. Anyone who's spent time with Abby knows she's everyone's MVP.
Groomsman
Jordan and Will's friendship started the way all great ones do: through their moms and a shared love of horses. They've been close ever since, navigating life's biggest milestones side by side, including their time at Northern Michigan University together in 2011. Will's favorite memories with Jordan involve ski days and countless games of pool at the 3rd Base Bar. Jordan is, by Will's own generous admission, "a little bit better" at pool. The record speaks for itself. When he's not outplaying Will at pool, Jordan can be found mountain biking, working on his 4Runner, or spending time with his girlfriend, Kelsey.
