Ben and I met during our second year at Spokane Falls Community College. Being athletes we saw each other around every once in a while in the gym or weight room but it wasn't until Maddie's teammates mentioned his name to her that Ben really stood out. Thanks to our friend Facebook, we got in contact and clicked instantly. After a few weeks of talking non stop we decided to actually meet up in person at a local outdoor volleyball tournament. By the second day of hanging out with one another Ben told me he loved me, but I couldn't be too freaked out because I knew I loved him by the second day too.

After about a month of dating, Ben and I were driving down the road with the music playing. As I was singing along to the song "September" by Earth Wind and Fire, Ben looked at me and told me that I was the one he was going to marry. It was such a special moment that is still so clear and memorable for me. I knew from that moment I wanted our wedding to be taken place on the day mentioned in the song (Sept. 21st). After being set on the date for sometime, we realized that this day was also Ben's grandparents anniversary. For more reasons than one, we had to have our wedding day on Sept. 21st.
