How We Met

Matt and Brooke met through mutual friends in the fall of 2013. Brooke ended up at a party at Matt’s place thrown by him and his roommates. They took a quick interest in each other and ending up spending the entire night side by side. Matt was even kind enough to lend a sweatshirt of his to Brooke that night while she slept in the living room with her friends. The next morning, Brooke woke up to a note written to her from Matt, but had to leave rather early (with Matt’s hoodie in hand). Later, Brooke read this with her friends and had a nice laugh over the boy who left his number in a note. Despite the laughs, the note had worked and the two remained in contact for a short while, but it eventually fizzled out. The timing wasn’t right for the two. Fast forward a year and a half Down the road, both Matt and Brooke reconnected and stayed in contact for a period of time. Matt tried tirelessly to get Brooke to agree to a date. Brooke agreed but later cancelled because she was “sick”. And after that, she got “called into work”. Fast forward a few more months Matt tried yet again to land a date with Brooke, this time “something came up”. Coincidentally, Brooke was “sick” again somewhere during that time line too. Another year goes by This time, Brooke reached out to Matt. But don’t get your hopes up, Brooke moved to Harrisburg three weeks after the pair reconnected. As Brooke adjusted into her new home, Matt remained one of the only constants that she knew as she explored the new life she started. One would think that the pair would work when they only had 30 miles separating the two, not 145. The pair decided to do things backwards in September of 2016. Matt and Brooke went on their first date to coincidentally the one place in Cresson that Matt hates. And the rest is history. Matt and Brooke officially started dating on November 5, 2016 after many years of attempts in the making. Oh, and Matt finally got his hoodie back shortly after.

The Proposal

Brooke and Matt vacationed to California in July 2018. The pair explored the Southern California coast line making stops in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara and finally in San Diego. Visiting one of Brooke's bridesmaids, Cheyenne, the two spent 3 days in San Diego and had to make a stop to one of Brooke's favorite places, La Jolla Cove. Matt secretly coordinated the day with Cheyenne and her husband for weeks (unknown to Brooke obviously). They did a great job being that a 2 hour trip for Poke is completely normal for Brooke. Matt mapped out his exact moves for the next day and had it all planned out. That is until the day came and Brooke decided to turn the 5 minute walk down the coast line into an hour trip. Matt should have known that a coast line covered with seals would not have gone unappreciated by Brooke. As the two finally made it to the point of La Jolla Cove, Matt said he wanted to get a picture. After handing the phone to Cheyenne, Matt got down on one knee as Brooke turned around. Thirty seconds later (yes, Matt forgot what to say) Matt asked Brooke that magical question. And here we are! Brooke and Matt cannot wait to celebrate their special day with you!
