We're Getting Married!

It all began in a neurobiology class at BYU when Jared first noticed Mazzy. While Mazzy had decided to set dating aside for that busy semester of their sophomore years, Jared couldn’t help but find reasons to talk to her after class. With a little persistence and a lot of courage, he finally asked her on a study date—and the rest is history.

As Jared and Mazzy prepared to apply for medical schools, they both knew one thing for certain—they loved each other deeply. What they didn’t know was whether they’d end up in the same city, let alone the same school. As their future career paths and relationship grew more serious, each came to the same conclusion separately: they’d rather give up their dreams than be without the other. How romantic! (Rolls eyes.) With that clarity, they decided to move forward together, officially. While Mazzy was spending Thanksgiving week with her family in Park City, Jared crafted the perfect surprise. Knowing her love of horses, he snuck up to join her and planned a picturesque horseback ride through the snowy peaks. At the perfect moment, he gave her something even more breathtaking—a diamond ring and a proposal to spend eternity together. Spoiler alert: she said yes!
