In 2018, during our senior year of high school, I added Mayson on Snapchat after following him on Instagram for a few years. His first snap featured him walking his dog, Bella, providing a perfect conversation starter. From that day on, we talked every day, and now, six years later, we're still going strong. After high school, I went to Creighton for volleyball, while Mayson pursued his high jump career at Nebraska. Despite the distance, we've been each other's biggest supporters in sports, school, and life. Celebrating successes and navigating challenges together has been a joy. We share a love for sports, each other's families, our adorable puppy Sully (pictured above), movies, La Cocina, and game nights. July 13, 2024, promises to be one of the best days of our lives, and we hope you can join us to celebrate our love!
During Christmas break, Mayson's mom, Kerry, planned a weekend trip to Kansas City. I was suspecting a proposal and packed an "engagement" outfit, but I was trying to not get my hopes up. The night before, a friend hinted at the possibility and mentioned her parents got engaged in Kansas City, but Mayson convinced me he had plans for the future. The next morning we were on our way to brunch, unaware of Mayson's plan and convinced it wasn't going to happen I didn't wear my outfit, do my hair, or put any makeup on. There were obvious signs a proposal was happening but I was oblivious. First, his parents dropped us off because they needed to "find parking" when we were parked in a completely empty lot. Then, Mayson went back to the car to grab something before we went into Union Station for "brunch". And finally the light display he surprised me with before brunch was completely empty although the rest of the building was busy. Once in the Christmas light display, we started looking around and then Mayson directed me under the main attraction and while all alone, Mayson proposed. All I remember was telling him, "stop it, no you're not, quit it" since he had faked proposed several times. Once I knew it was real I started bawling and said, "YES!!!". We then made the trip home and celebrated with family and friends, making it a perfect day. Our next big day is on July 13th, 2024, when we say "I do" and become the Conners!
