I spend my summers photographing the trail riders who book horseback rides at The Stables at Palmer Gulch. Mid-summer this new guy named Cole shows up as a wrangler. He found a way to talk to me every day but I wasn't biting. One day, on the trail he asked if we could go to lunch. I told him I was too busy. Cole replied, "Well, I'll bring lunch to you!" Shortly after that, I did accept his invite to dinner but I did not consider that a date. After the season at The Stables ended, my dad hired Cole to work with his contracting business. Cole was persistent and very kind in getting to know me - he even took me star gazing one night. Shortly after, a real dinner date took place. And as they say "the rest is history."
The first real dinner date was at one of Cole's favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse. Without a romantic bone in my body, it's a good thing Cole reminds me when our monthly anniversary is. 😂 Life with Cole is never dull, it's new every day!
Cole suggested the two of us go on a horseback ride while my mom got some practice in with the camera. We saddled up and took a ride by the creek while my mom casually photographed us. She drove back to our house to get my hat (and unbeknowing to me, a good photographer friend of mine). Once she came back, Cole got off his horse, got down on one knee and proposed. Kelsey hopped out of the car with her camera and caught the whole thing on camera!
