What is the last day that I can RSVP to the wedding?

Answer

We would prefer you RSVP sooner rather than later. The cut-off RSVP date will be August 30, 2021.

COVID-19 Precautions and Testing Requirement To Attend the Wedding

Answer

We are taking all the necessary precautions to protect our guests. The city of Oaxaca and our venue require guests to present a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend the wedding. The test needs to be done 48- hours prior to the event (e.g. the earliest the test can be done is Thursday afternoon 2 days prior to the event). Laboratorios SPC is open from 8am - 3pm (Monday through Saturday.) The cost of taking the test is $480. We will try our best to accommodate dietary needs. When you RSVP you will be asked to pick your main entree and let us know if you have any dietary restrictions (ie. allergies, gluten, dairy-free, etc)

Answer

Please note that dinner will not be served until 7 PM. We encourage everyone to eat something prior to the wedding so you are not famished. Dinner will be a four-course menu with appetizer, soup, main entree, and dessert.

We recommend you stay at one of the hotels we have listed on our website under "Travel" or if you want more flexibility at an Airbnb. We strongly suggest staying within the city center, or "el Centro". All events will happen here and we want you close by for the festivities! Please contact Mayra or Hector if you need other hotel recommendations.

What's the best flight to take to get to Oaxaca?

Answer

Most flights will connect through Mexico City. There are, however, direct flights from LAX on Volaris on certain days (Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday). If you are departing from Tijuana (TJ), you can use the CBX crossing bridge to access the TJ airport. Please note that you must have a flight departing from TJ to access the bridge. The cost to use the CBX bridge is $15 each way. There are many direct and cheaper flights from TJ. Upon arrival, you can easily grab a cab to take you to the city center. The historical center of Oaxaca is a 25 minute taxi ride from the airport. You can pay for your taxi with a credit card, if you order from inside the airport before you exit. Please note Uber is not available in Oaxaca.

The ceremony will take place on November 27, 2021 at 4:30 PM at Templo Santo Domingo located at Calle de Macedonio Alcalá s/n, Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax., Mexico. The reception will take place 5 minute walking distance from the church at La Fabrica at 6:00 PM after the Calenda, a traditional Oaxacan celebration after the religious ceremony. The Fabrica is located at Calle Macedonio Alcalá 907, Col. Centro, 68000

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Dress to impress - Cocktail formal. This is a formal wedding. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose. Also, please make sure to bring comfortable shoes for the Calenda. We will be walking around the city for about 20 minutes before making out way to the venue for the reception.

Lots! Eat your way through the city or visit many of the local attractions. You can always go to the Zocalo and find one of the local tour guides to set up a tour to Monte Alban, Hierve el Agua, Mitla, or Mezcal tours.
