Como Cathedral

The Covered Market in Via Mentana 5 is open every day from Monday to Saturday.
Brunate
In Piazza De Gasperi, where the funicular station is located, it is possible to reach Brunate in about 7 minutes. The town is also called the "balcony" of the Alps for the breathtaking panorama it offers. Walking through the hills you can admire many splendid Art Nouveau villas and you can reach San Maurizio where the Voltiano Lighthouse, built in 1927, stands. A spiral staircase of 143 steps allows you to get to the pitch on the top from which you can enjoy a priceless view. During the night, the lighthouse illuminates Como and the valley below with beams of white, red and green lights. Of course, you can also visit Brunate by walk.

The Villages
Laglio, a town now known for the residence of actor George Clooney, (who purchased the splendid Villa Oleandra in 2002) is located on the western shore of Lake Como. Above the hamlet of Torriggia there is the famous 'Buco dell'Orso', a cave made up of three underground lakes. Brienno is one of the oldest villages, remained virtually unchanged for over a century. Nesso is located along the road from Como to Bellagio. The village, with its typical houses, meets around the two main attractions: the Orrido waterfall and the medieval bridge of Civera.
