The Mayors say Yes to Forever!

Our story begins when two determined hearts driven by service, excellence, and ambition meet in Lagos, Nigeria. Mercy and I first crossed paths as academic scholars, each of us winning the i-Scholar Initiative (iSI) prestigious scholarship awards that paved the way for our graduate studies in the United Kingdom and the United States (I only studied in one of these countries; you can tell who explored both, I no like book like that😂). Our first meet-up was all it took to spark a connection that neither of us could ignore. We were intentional about staying in touch, and what began as a simple friendship quickly blossomed into something deep and meaningful. Despite the miles that separated us—Mayor in the USA and Mercy in the UK — our bond only grew stronger. We stayed committed to checking in on each other, offering support, and genuinely caring for one another. The Atlantic Ocean between us affected nothing as our friendship flourished across time zones and continents. A year later, God orchestrated a move that brought us closer when Mercy moved to the United States. Though we found ourselves in different states, a thousand miles apart, the connection between us remained unshaken. It wasn’t long before I asked her a life-changing question: Would you be willing to walk the path to forever one with me? I spoke of marriage; a future where we would become one, lead a family rooted in faith, and continuously uplift and support each other as we journey through life (Let me tell y’all this, I asked her this question in person, and she answered virtually over a distance after prayerfully considering this man. The things men go through for love…😂). After a joyful and resounding "Yes," we embarked on this new chapter, filled with moments of preparation, anticipation, and endless love. Now, as the day approaches for us to stand before our families, friends, and countless witnesses, we are ready and excited to begin our forever. Together, we will wake up every day seeking new ways to love, care for, and help each other, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to start this journey. Cheers to life, love, and forever. Toast💓: ...
