We're getting married!

April 17, 2017 Surprisingly, Laura and Rolan met on Tinder. Rolan was actually on there showing one of his friends how it works. He was just swiping in every direction for the heck of it. Once Rolan matched with Laura, he showed his friend how to initiate a conversation (with a gif, from the office to be specific). Laura thought Rolan was funny. Despite Laura being a dry and boring texter, Rolan still wanted to get to know her. April 25, 2017 After Laura got out early from jury duty on a rainy Tuesday, she decided it was time to meet Rolan in person! As she headed over to Rolan’s apartment, she thought about how this was probably the craziest thing she had ever done. She kept praying to God that Rolan did not turn out to be a catfish. Thanks be to God, Rolan was who he said he was! The rest of the day was spent together going to Food Lion, making buffalo chicken dip, listening to music, and watching The Secret Life of Pets. April 28, 2017 3 days later...Laura went over to Rolan’s apartment for dinner. Rolan made steak and mashed potatoes. As they slow danced in Rolan’s living room, Rolan asked Laura to be his girlfriend. Unfortunately the next day, Rolan ended up getting food poisoning (way to take one for the team) and now we’re here!

It was Thanksgiving Day, Rolan and Laura were spending the day with Rolan's friends. After dinner, Rolan asked Laura to come outside with him for a second to chat. While holding Laura's hands, Rolan started expressing how much he loved and cared about Laura and how he wanted to spend forever with her. Laura was oblivious to what was to come because Rolan always said those sweet things to her. Rolan was shaking so bad as he nervously pulled the ring from his pocket. He asked her to spend forever with him and slid the ring on her finger. Laura was shocked and the first thing she said was "Did you talk to my mom?" because she always told Rolan that he needed to do that. Laura of course, eventually, said yes! It was right after laundry day, so Rolan’s pants were way too tight for him to get on one knee. But it still worked out! Here's to their Happily Ever After! Fun Fact: Rolan proposed to Laura on Thanksgiving because that’s an “easy” day to remember. However, he was not thinking that the actual date changes every year...so that’s that.
