We met online, but the day after that we actually ran into each other at Target! We scheduled a date for the following weekend where went to a local restaurant called Big Picture Burger and went back to Abbie's house for movies afterwards. We learned that we had many mutual friends and had come close to crossing paths many times before -- but everything happens in its own timing! After the first date, we were inseparable. We spent every moment we could together until it was time for school to resume and we decided to give long distance a try. Our friends called us crazy for trying long distance with someone we hadn't even known for a month, but thank goodness we did!!
One of our friends who is a photographer reached out and asked if we wanted to do a couple's shoot as she was rebranding her business, and I didn't think much of it as we had done a few photoshoots with her previously. When we were in the garden next to Perry First United Methodist Church, where we took our first set of photos about two and a half years ago, he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and said, "This is the moment baby"! We often talk about our "movie moments" and when our "big moment" would be and how we were so excited for that time of our lives, and here it was!! We both cried happy tears and our photoshoot turned into our engagement shoot! After the pictures were done, we went back to my house where Zach had set up a surprise engagement party with many of our friends and family. Everyone had done such an amazing job decorating and setting up a wonderful surprise following our proposal. We're so blessed with the best family and friends we could ask for! It was a perfect day! We're so excited to celebrate with all of our loved ones! See you at Tryphena's Garden!
