Our engagement was beautiful. As you may know, Justin is of a practical sort and, in preparation for the proposal, he had planned and scrimped and saved. He had imagined a proposal with all of the typical pomp and circumstance; champagne and violins, roses and satin. However, as Justin later confessed, once the ring was in hand, it was much harder to wait than he had expected. And so, following a blustery afternoon at the park for his nephew's fourth birthday party, Justin did it. He proposed! And I, of course, said YES! At that party, surrounded by his family and what seemed like hundreds of four year olds, Justin and I realized that a future full of love, family, friends and children is precisely the one we want. Together.
