In early 2021, after swiping right on a dating app, Dan and Megan met at a diner in New Haven. Their first date was after his night shift in the ER and before her morning shift at the salon. Megan looked professional and cute while Dan looked like he just got off a 12+ hour shift (with N-95 indents in his hair, and we all know how he is about his hair!) They immediately piqued interest in each other while talking about all kinds of interests they shared. All the while, Dan having egg on his face and Megan not knowing how to tell him as she just met him. (Making it hard to listen to whatever he was talking about!) After several more dates and overcoming commitment issues, Dan asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Shortly after, he met her whole family in one day (big Irish family!!) Their first year flew by and then they ended up moving in together. Dan seemed to be very excited that Ellie, Megan's cat was coming along (even more excited than Megan moving in). Although both their jobs required irregular and abnormal hours, Dan and Megan got into their routine. Dan was unprepared for how spoiled he would be! Especially the care she gave him when he was recovering from his shoulder surgery. There are many things that Dan adores about Megan, too many to list. He knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her! He didn't know exactly how to propose, he just knew he wanted it to be sincere and private. On a beautiful day they went to East Hampton, CT and Dan thought it would be romantic to propose by the lake. He was breathing heavy due to nerves. Megan called him out on his breathing, and to cover it up he just said he was really out of shape (believable). He wanted to surprise her while getting their picture taken by the lake, but the ring box was stuck in his pocket and Megan turned around before he could surprise her at the right time. They locked eyes and although she denies it, he knew that she knew what was happening. He got down on one knee and asked the question....
