FAQs

Question

What is there to do during the time between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

Answer

There is a gap of time between when the ceremony ends (2PM) and when the cocktail hour begins (5PM). Locust Grove will be open to the public until 4:30PM, so we ask that you arrive as close to 5PM as possible, to allow their staff time to close the museum and prep for the event. Please check out the “Things To Do” page for ideas!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Please note that this is an adults-only event.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, please wear cocktail attire (no jeans, please!). The ceremony will be indoors, however the cocktail hour and reception will be outdoors. The venue is a garden, and the cocktail hour will be in grass, but the reception/dinner/dancing will be on a paved, covered pavilion. Please dress according to the weather!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We ask that you do not bring a date unless you were provided with a plus one, as indicated on your formal invitation. Please reach out directly to Adam or Ellie if you have any questions.

Question

Will transportation be provided from the Ceremony to the Reception, or at the end of the Reception?

Answer

No transportation will be provided to guests. Plenty of parking is available at both the church and reception venues, so please feel free to drive yourself; however, we highly encourage you to Uber, to ensure the safety of you and others at the end of the night! There is street parking / paved lots at the church, and paved lots / grass parking at Locust Grove.
