One summer night in Wilmington, North Carolina, May was hanging out at the apartment pool with her friends — roasting marshmallows for s’mores, having drinks, and enjoying the evening. Unfortunately, the marshmallows were left on the ground for a little too long, and the local water bugs decided to join the party. Determined to save the night, May’s best friend Kiernan started going around the pool asking neighbors if anyone happened to have extra marshmallows. That’s when she came across Riley and his friends in the pool. Coincidentally, Riley also had a best friend named Kieran. Even more unbelievable? They shared the exact same birthday. Kiernan rushed back over to May insisting she had to come meet these boys because there was “absolutely no way” this coincidence was real. Skeptical but curious, May walked over — only to find out it was all completely true. What started as a search for marshmallows turned into spending the rest of the night laughing and hanging out together by the pool.
