Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Check out the "TRAVEL" page for all the travel info you need!! There are two airports here in Chicago, O'Hare International (ORD) and Midway (MDW). ORD is the larger of the two and serves as a hub for the major airlines. MDW is much smaller (and closer), and only serves Southwest and some Delta flights. We recommend Midway because it's much easier and quicker to get through, but ORD is the most likely option for most people. Either one goes!

When should I arrive in Chicago? How long should I stay?

Answer

Our wedding is on a Friday night, and we're staying in town all weekend to spend time with all of you!!! The best time to arrive would be any time Thursday, or early on Friday, and we welcome you to stay through Sunday evening if you can. The city has SO much to offer and we would love to spend our first couple of days as newlyweds making some amazing new memories with our friends :)

Do you have a hotel block? Where should I stay?

Answer

Because our guest list is so small, we don't have any room blocks reserved, so please feel free to stay anywhere you like! We recommend staying near the center city so you don't have to travel too far. Aim for anything in the Loop, South Loop, West Loop, River North, Streeterville, or along the Mag Mile! If you're not sure or need some help deciding, let us know! Also keep in mind non-hotel options like AirBnB or VRBO :)

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

We've included the names of all invited guests directly on the invitations, and you'll see them online when you RSVP! We're keeping it small (and the venue has a limit!), so we kindly ask that only those named on the invitation attend. If something is wrong and you're having trouble RSVPing or you're not sure about something, definitely check in with us :) We can't wait to see you!

As much as we (read: May...) really love our joint moniker, we are both very happily keeping our original names! Fear not, though, Alvakato will live on as a pet last name and an endearing hashtag :)

I have a dietary restriction - what are my options?

Answer

Dinner will be served buffet-style and will include some vegetarian, non-dairy, and gluten-free options! For mains, one option is fully vegetarian, while a few of the sides and extras are vegan-friendly. Everything on the menu is also nut-free, sesame-free, and shellfish-free :)
