Over the past five years, Ahmad has been teaching boxing in his free time. He just so happened to teach at a new boxing studio that Maya’s sister, Lana, had been encouraging her to join for several weeks to no avail. Fast Forward to January 2023, Lana entered Maya into the studio's first instagram giveaway. Spoiler: Maya ended up winning a lot more than an Oculus and fitness swag.

It's no secret to anyone who knows either of them, that Ahmad and Maya absolutely love the city of Detroit. For months, Ahmad would get to know Maya in the Spirit Plaza just outside of her workplace over lunch and coffee, and over time, they attended various events at the Plaza and became familiar faces. Ahmad, being the social butterfly that he is, made friends with the staff at the plaza. Then it hit him: it was this new fabric in their community that could help him pull off a grand proposal that Maya had only dreamt about until that day. For context, you should know that Maya always wanted to experience a live flash mob, and, since day one, Ahmad had been in the business of making ALL of Maya's dreams come true. Literally all of them. This time was no different. Ahmad lured Maya into the city under the guise of a photoshoot on a bright, sunny day. While they waited for the photographer, they "randomly" stopped into the Spirit Plaza for the Detroit Lions tailgate. The score was 07 - 28 seconds before half-time, (which as you should know is their birthday) with the Lions in the lead. Ahmad purportedly won a prize during half-time and then took over the microphone. On his queue, Ahmad's fraternity brothers emerged from the crowd and began to stroll (a dance specific to their fraternity, A Phi A). During the performance, other friends and family started to surface. Then, in prince-like fashion, Ahmad got down on one knee. Following the proposal, everyone in the Plaza joined in for cake and a celebratory hustle, Detroit style. It truly felt like a scene right out a movie, but, honestly, what else would you expect from a Leo?
