Our Story

Our first big trip together was to coastal Kenya and the Masai Mara. It was an unforgettable experience and we were so fortunate to see the Big 5 and snorkel in the Indian ocean together.

Our Masai Mara guide had some very creative photo ideas.

We took exactly *zero* photos of proposal day, but here's a still. Tarun recruited Maya's friends (shoutout Biz and Ryan) to throw her off the scent. It worked - Maya was very surprised!

Tarun showed Maya around Charlottesville, home of his Alma Mater. Go Hoos!

Winning Maya over was a piece of cake relative to the (ongoing) battle of winning over Farrah.

We've attended so many weddings together since we met and love sneaking out to grab some Taco Bell or pizza. We will try not to sneak out of our own wedding (no promises).

If there's one thing we never disagree on, it's food. We're always craving the same things, there's never a debate over what to get at restaurants (Tarun would like to note that Maya always chooses).

An amazing trip to Bali, Indonesia. Tarun went to the spa right before this photo and could barely keep his eyes open.

Maya got her PhD last year at Duke University, and Tarun (and his dad, who has his PhD from CMU) was her number one supporter and celebrator.

We spent a day walking from Maya's Alma Mater Columbia University all the way down to Little Italy. A lot of pasta was consumed that day.

Fun fact, we're birthday neighbors! Tarun's birthday is December 17th and Maya's is December 18th.

Our families celebrated the holidays together. It was a blast and Maya got an ice cream maker.
