Once upon a time, in the land of University, a freshie met a sophomore...There was an instant connection on that day when they were introduced at the party of BSU and their hands touched. The freshie was awestruck (his words) and the sophomore was like 'aw what a freshie.' One thing led to another and there was the kindling of the friend zone for 2 years between the two. Little did they know how their fates would one day intertwine. Leading up to that day, that sophomore, Maya was appointed as a leader princess (lol) of BCM (Black Campus Ministries), one of the many, many, many communities of the Most High Kingdom, where she lead and was part of this community of the Kingdom with many other princesses and princes. One such prince, the freshie, Shawn, decided to join this community as well after he had searched high and low for the right fit. He felt in his heart that the King was guiding him there on his journey of peace and wisdom. He needed time alone with the King to get to that. Maya did as well. Then, when it least expected for the two, the King knew the time was right. Feelings grew, hang outs and car talks occurred, and trust and was kindled between that prince and princess and it blossomed into something completely new. Who knew? The prince had fallen in love. But though the princess felt it too, they needed time to make sure it was right. They went on a path of discernment, one with openness on both sides. Maya knew that something had changed for her and when she talked to the King it was affirmed. Shawn only helped it grow with his character and chivalry. And that time he prayed for her, that time he was overcome with Kingdom's peace, that time she knew how he felt, the times the King gave her signs, the times there was true love through pain, the times he was there through it all, the love between the two grew from a little seed to a tree so tall. It all became the foundation of a God-sent love from above. Five years of the most imperfectly perfect love we'll ever know brought us here. Our love story was just the start. ~ Maya & Shawn
