Garden of the Gods is a beautiful park to drive through on your way to Manitou Springs, or do some light hiking. You may be able to catch the big horn sheep if you visit in the early morning.
The Manitou Incline is a short, but steep hike. The trail gains 2,000 feet of elevation in a miles distance. The hike takes and average of two hours to reach the top, and then an additional two hours to get down the Barr Trail. This hike does require a parking reservation and is not for the out of shape.
Manitou Springs is cute street to walk up and down for tourist attractions. Walking around you can find a bite to eat, play games at the penny arcade, shopping for souvenirs, or even have an aura analysis or a tarot reading at one of the local shops.
Rita the Rock Planter is a sculpture in Victor, near Cripple Creek. The sculpture is inspired by Victor's history as a mining town. Rita is posed as if she is tending to the ground where the mining took place. It is a bit of a drive, and it is up in the mountains, but makes for a fun day trip if you have an extra day.
Pikes Peak is the fourteener that sits at the center of Colorado Springs mountain landscape. There is a lot to do on the mountain, the Cog Railway can take you to the top without the stress of driving up to the top. Don't forget to enjoy a donut while you gaze down at the scenery if you reach the summit! You can also drive up yourself, if you do so there are reservoirs for fishing, picnic areas, and pull offs for scenic photos and hikes.
