Maya and Marcus met on New Years Eve through their good friends Deshawn and Shakira. Marcus approached Maya shortly after she arrived to the gathering. He sung to her and in that moment, she was smitten with him. They spent the night talking, sharing space with each other, and she then knew that she felt safe with him. After a little over two years of dating, Marcus proposed to Maya at Lake Norman State Park, in memory of their first date. She said yes, and they began planning their dream wedding. Now, as they prepare to tie the knot, Maya & Marcus are excited for their future together. They plan to travel the world, starting with a destination wedding in Cancun. They just built their first home and plan to also start a family. But above all, they look forward to growing old, holding hands and reminiscing about their journey of life together. As they plan their future, Maya and Marcus know that whatever comes their way, they can overcome it as long as they have God and each other. And now, as they stand on the brink of a new chapter in their lives, they are filled with gratitude for the love they have found in one another.
