Our Story

Ready for the Distance to be Done

Over 1,800 miles apart, countless flights, and too many goodbyes, we can finally say the long distance is coming to an end. We have prayed for this since the beginning and are so excited that God has answered us in the best way. On February 6th, 2024, our story as a couple began when Luke asked Maya to be his Valentine, shortly followed by asking her to be his girlfriend. We had many fun dates over the spring and summer like going to Vitale’s Pizza, the beach, and watching the sunset. Near the end of summer, Luke applied for a job in Arizona after he graduated in the fall. After lots of prayers and conversations, Luke decided to take the job and was set to move across the country. He moved in October 2024 and started a new journey while our relationship became long-distance. Even though we were separated geographically, we continued to love one another and grew closer despite the distance. Luke visited home often and Maya traveled west when she could. We kept a countdown on our phones until we were together again, which helped us get through hard days by reminding us we would be reunited soon. After over 16 months of long distance, Luke bought a ring and within the week, he flew home early to ask Maya’s parents for their blessing. On February 7th, 2026 he got on one knee and proposed. We are so grateful for everyone who supported us along the way, and we look forward to beginning this next chapter together and celebrating the life God has blessed us with.
