The Thayer Hotel

For your convenience and to spend more time with family and friends, we have negotiated a block of rooms that are available for you to book at the Thayer Hotel. All events will also take place at the Thayer Hotel. Feel free to call the hotel directly at (845) 446-4731 to book your room. Please mention the "Sterling-Olivar Wedding." Unfortunately, you cannot get access to the room block on the Thayer Hotel website.

The Holiday Inn is about 15 minutes away from the Thayer Hotel. Please plan to arrange your own transportation. Uber service in the area is limited.

Train

Metro North - Hudson River Line

Travel by Metro-North from Grand Central Station in Manhattan to Peekskill, New York. From the Peekskill train station, it is a 25-minute Uber or taxi ride to the Thayer Hotel. As of the July 2024 schedule, trains arrive every half hour on Fridays and every hour on Saturdays.

Coach USA Bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal to West Point

Coach USA offers a once daily bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan to the West Point Visitor Center or the Thayer Gate. The Visitors Center is about a 10 minute walk from the Thayer Hotel. On Friday, the bus leaves Port Authority at 2:45pm and arrives at the Thayer Gate at 4:32pm. On Saturday, the bus leaves Port Authority at 8:45am and arrives at the Visitors Center at 10:27am. On Sunday, the bus leaves the Visitors Center at 5:07pm and arrives at Port Authority at 7pm.

Arriving to the Thayer Hotel by Car or Taxi

Approach the Thayer Hotel driving North on Route 9W into and beyond the town of Highland Falls, New York. At the end of the town of Highland Falls, there is a large stone guard-post. To continue to the hotel, you may need to present your ID and say you are going to the Thayer Hotel. The Thayer Hotel entrance ramp will be immediately on your right past this first checkpoint. Past the Thayer Hotel is the entrance to the USMA campus and a second, more heavily secured checkpoint. Access to the campus is restricted, and guests should obtain a pass from the West Point Visitors Center before attempting to enter the base. No events for wedding guests will be held on base.

Flight

New York City Airports

New York City has three airports: LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). From all three airports, depending on traffic, it is between an hour and an hour and a half by car or taxi to the Thayer Hotel.
