Colin and Maya first met at a party in their freshman year of college. Maya was a little nervous because she didn't know many people there, but Colin introduced himself and instantly made her feel more comfortable. They ended up spending the rest of the night talking to each other. While they both really enjoyed getting to know each other, they didn't end up dating for a while and didn't end up seeing each other much over the course of their college years. However, that night was one they both remembered well and cherished. Colin and Maya reconnected through mutual friends in 2020. They officially began dating on November 13th, 2020! And from there, it was history! Throughout the years, they have enjoyed what they like to call "growing up together." They lived in four different apartments, shared two pets together (Riley and Willow), and shared a lot of memories with their friends and families. Colin proposed in Gold Medal Park on July 24, 2024. He did a very good job keeping it a secret and a surprise for Maya. He told her they were going out to sushi, but wanted to take a walk first. Maya was very hungry and was not excited about postponing their dinner. Colin insisted they go for the walk, and Maya, eventually, though reluctantly, gave in. It's fair to say it was worth the delay! Colin and Maya then spent a year together in Morris, MN, for Maya's teaching fellowship before coming home to plan the wedding! They're both excited to start the next part of their journey together and hope that you, our friends and family, will be there to celebrate with them!
