Our Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us.

Maya L. Thompson

Bride

I am 24 years old and am CRAZY EXCITED to be the future bride and forever wife to Jordan Delano Hubbard. I hold a bachelors degree in Psychology and am currenlty working on a Masters in Divinity. I am the daughter of Robert and Evelyn Thompson and the 4th of 5 siblings. My most fond memory of Jordan, if I could pick just ONE of the MILLIONS I have, would have to be us going to the reservoir, during the pandemic, and slow dancing to Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight". The thing that made this night so special was that we were wearing sweatpants, t-shirts, sneakers and I had on my faithful ‘socks and Birkenstocks’ combo, yet we danced under the stars as if we were dressed in a ball gown and tuxedo. That night was simple, yet so sweet and so perfect to me.

Jordan D. Hubbard

Groom

I was born and raised in Jackson, MS and am a current resident of Santa Clara, CA. I’m a Software Engineer working on the Information Security Team at Apple. I am thoroughly excited and happy to be marrying the love of my life, Maya Leigh Thompson. My most fond memory of my bride-to-be has to be the night of our engagement. She had a slight clue that I was going to propose to her, but she had no idea when. By the time we made it to my parent’s house (which is where I proposed to her), she was a little down because she thought the night would end without me proposing to her. However, that night ended with a huge smile on her face, tears in her eyes, and ultimately, a big moment to remember for the both of us. Can’t wait to spend forever with you.

Mary E. (Thompson) Johnson

Matron of Honor

Maya is the first little sister I’ve ever had!! My favorite childhood memory with my sister is when she, I and our baby sister would choreograph dances together and perform them for our parents. They were silly but creative, and we always had so much fun. I’ve been working in Human Resources at The University of Mississippi Medical Center for 5 years and am currently employed as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator. I enjoy cooking comfort food, singing hymns/ jazz classics and reading self-help books. I’m a a proud graduate of Jackson State University and Belhaven University.

Joshua D. Hubbard

Best Man

Favorite memory of Jordan is coming home everyday after school and doing everything from basketball to music with him. Jordan would beat me in EVERYTHING until I found out how to beat him. Basketball was very frustrating for me growing up because I always lost to Jordan and Jay. I would even cry if they beat me in video games. Everything we did was competitive. Jordan would also let me sit in his room and watch him work on his music. He was so talented I didn’t wanna try to attempt to beat him in music but he’s pushed me to be great and I’m grateful for my big brother. I love you Jordan and I’m happy for you!

Maria H. Thompson

Maid of Honor

I am the little sister of the bride & the future sister-in-law of the groom. I am a first-year law student at the University of Mississippi School of Law & an alum of Tougaloo College. Maya is my (little) big sister. Although she is older than me, I always like to think of myself as her big sister. My fondest memory of Maya includes all of our many antics growing up. (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: living room sleepovers, dance sessions, daily arguments, going to every school together, missing the bus, nightly food runs, childhood whoopings, shared birthdays etc.) Maya, is truly a light & with her there's never a dull moment. Cheers to the bride & the groom. P.S. imagine Maya as fire who's always on 100 & Jordan as ice who's always surprisingly calm --a literal representation from 0 to 100.

Jason D. Hubbard II

Best Man

I’m the older brother of the groom and soon to be brother-in-law of the bride. I’m excited to be apart of the marriage of these lovely two people. My fondest memory with the bride and groom is when we visited Jordan in California and went biking on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. We were all extremely tired from so many hills and climbs, but nonetheless, it was an amazing day and a time to remember with Jordan and Maya.
