We're getting married!

Daniel and I met enjoying one of our many shared interests: ultimate frisbee. We were both participating in Mission Church’s young adult program, which included Tuesday night Bible studies, Sunday afternoon frisbee games, and a summer kick off competition where we hit it off for the first time. Though we had only spoken briefly before, I was relieved to see Daniel as a familiar face on my team for a “Survivor” themed night of challenges. Our team won that night, and that was just the beginning. After that, Daniel joined a run club that I was a part of, and impressed me early with tales of world travels, unprecedented athletic skill, and most importantly, his love for the Lord. I remember our first date vividly, as we talked easily for hours, going back and forth sharing something that we loved, and the other responding with, “No way? Me too!” Since that day, we have bonded over movies and books, music and games, travel and adventure. We have been to India, Germany, France, and Switzerland. We have had endless movie marathons, all concluding in deep after-watch analyses, and many intense game nights, which despite both of our competitive natures, rarely end in fights! I have trained for two marathons, and Daniel has done almost all of it with me (even though he’s not running the race!). Whether it’s 14 hours on a plane, 4 hours in a movie theatre, or a 2 hour run, there is no one else I would rather have by my side. With this next adventure of marriage on our horizon, I look forward to a lifetime of new challenges: arguing over watching the Chiefs or the Tigers, planning trips to try to top the amazing ones we’ve already done, and keeping up with Daniel while he talks about niche church history and his favorite confessions of faith. I truly cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for us!
