We’re getting Married!

eHarmony. I was an extremely busy service member at the time, and one afternoon I was looking on eHarmony and saw May. I slid into her DMs (sending her a direct message). I waited anxiously for a response that took about 2.5 weeks. We messaged on the app as often as we could with her responses taking over a week at times, but I knew I really wanted to meet her and I was tired of waiting on responses because I can be impatient sometimes. I asked her if we could talk on the phone, and when she replied with her phone number I called her almost immediately. From the way we talked on the phone and the and the way our conversations carried I knew she was going to be someone I wanted to talk to. She was and still is a kind-hearted genuine person. Every question I asked while getting to know her always led to these long conversations that would make time disappear. As soon I got the opportunity I asked if I could take her on a first date. On 11.20.2021 I drove 7 hours from San Diego, CA; where I was stationed, all the way to vellejo, CA; just north of San Fransisco. During that road trip I made a stop at a grocery store and took May on a picnic. On that date there were many laughs and many conversations, who knew that in that moment I was getting to know the woman of my dreams and the woman I want to spend my life with. Cant wait to see what the future holds for us with a lifetime of more laughter with the love of my life, who I met on eHarmony.

I knew that May loves hiking as do I. I knew the time was coming that I was going to pop the question I just did not know when. I bought the ring and waiting for the perfect opportunity to pop the question. May was planning a birthday gift for me, her plan was to take me to a luxurious trailer camping site in the middle of Yosemite National Park; the site was beautiful. The site had an amazing lookout where we could watch the sunset and sunrise from on top of a hillside. I felt that even though she had planned this for my birthday, this was the moment and she had no idea. With the ring in my pocket and the feeling of paresthesia, I set my phone up on a tripod and put it on record pretending we were going to take some pictures. I put my hand out and asked her to take some pictures with the sunset. As I positioned her perfectly in-front of the camera, I dropped my knee and asked the question. The shock on her face was perfect and a night we will never forget.
