In September 2017, Max and Hannah were freshmen at Montclair State University. During the first class they both attended during their first semester, Hannah sat in the row in front of Max and they had unknown crushes on each other. Max joined Pike and Hannah joined Tri Sigma so they often ran into each other at the same greek life social events and parties. They became friends and their personalities complimented each other's. All of their friends said that they were perfect for one another. In the fall of 2019, Max and Hannah started dating. They became inseparable, spending nearly every day together on and off campus. Max and Hannah have always encouraged each other to reach their fullest potential. After graduating from Montclair State, Hannah supported Max through the New Jersey State Police Academy, and Max supported Hannah through graduate school at Teachers College, Columbia University. They never gave up on each other, even during the most difficult times. They both have a strong work ethic and strive to be the best versions of themselves. Giving back to society and helping others is a fundamental part of who they are. Their successes were not achieved alone but were built on the strength of their relationship. Max and Hannah also added a dachshund mix, Quinn—aka Quinnie—to their family! The Jersey Shore is Max and Hannah’s favorite place and holds a special place in their relationship. Spending time down the shore and going to the beach is their favorite activity. Every summer, they visit Sandy Hook National Park to bike, walk, relax, and enjoy the beach. When it's not beach season, Max and Hannah love exploring New York City, especially during Christmas time. On May 17, 2025, Max took Hannah on a hike to the tip of Sandy Hook’s beach—a point where you can see the edge of New York City and the beginning of New Jersey’s shoreline—and asked her to marry him. Max chose this location because it will always be there for generations to come and beautifully combines the views of their two favorite places: the city and the beach.
