How We Met

“how’s harvest going for you?”

In Mr. Jarvis eighth grade history class to be exact. Max in the row ahead of Emma. We rarely made any interactions, besides when we were supposed to during class. Later on in the year, we began to talk more, but mainly due to the fact that we were ALWAYS seated next to each other in every class. October 16, 2020, Emma finally messaged Max, with the most Max question ever, “How’s harvest going for you?”. Of course after all the chatter on harvest, we began to message more frequently and eventually made it to here. The rest is history, folks! ;)

Our Engagement

I said YES!

Throughout our whole relationship, we always knew we wanted to get married young. From middle school, to high school, and eventually the balance between the college and high school relationship, our relationship grew tremendously. Despite the growth we made physically, Max and I always grew together emotionally and spiritually. From personal hardships, unexpected challenges, and tough moments, Max always set the perfect example. Alongside Max, my faith has taken a deeper root and flourished, while our relationship has even grown further into a testament of God’s grace and unwavering love. With the growth and strength we both gained throughout the years, we knew as soon as I was done with high school our relationship was ready to pursue the next step, marriage. After an amazing dinner at Regatta Grille, we were driving down our long lane, when Max stopped the vehicle and we got out. Without looking or realizing what was happening, I turned around to see Max down on one knee with flowers he pulled out from a plastic bag in the field. Down on his knee, with the ring in one hand and the flowers in the other, Max asked me to marry him. I obviously said YES! The meaningful background to getting engaged on our lane is seriously SO special. This exact property is the property that Max’s great-grandparents lived on, his parents lived on, and obviously the property Max grew up on. This property is the place we will begin our life together and pray to one day continue the blessing of this property for the generations to come.
