The Wedding Website of Maxwell Peters and Ariane Cook
Meet our family and friends who will be walking down the aisle with us.

Audrey Cook

Maid of Honor

How We Met: Aud and Ari met at the hospital when Ari was born and her world was forever changed (for the better) by becoming a big sister. Audrey's Beige Flags: She let's her dog eat at the dinner table with her, almost went into labor at a Taylor Swift concert and refuses to order anything "as-is" at a restaurant (a beige flag of the bride as well) What to Expect at the Wedding: EXTREME nerves before delivering her speech, which will ultimately be amazing and perhaps being over-served by the bartender via white wine or spicy margs.

Peter Nyznyk

Best Man

How We Met: Max and Peter attended De La Salle High School together and met their sophomore year while playing baseball. After a brief hiatus of not keeping in touch during college, the two reconnected while living in San Fransisco after college. Peter's Beige Flag: Is always down to break the two Martini rule (ask him about it if you don't know what that is). What to Expect at the Wedding: An entertaining speech, interesting dance moves, and overall good vibes.

Shelby Whelihan

Bridesmaid

How We Met: Ari and Shelby met at the awkward age of 14 and immediately became best friends living only 1/4 mile away from one another. They spent summers making hilarious videos dancing and playing in the pool exactly like what you see on TikTok under "teenagers today vs. when I was a teenager." Shelby's Beige Flags: She exclusively wears Vuori, and will never answer her phone under any circumstances. What to Expect at the Wedding: Good vibes, someone the bride knows she can count on and accidentally forgetting to take a single photo the entire weekend.

Ryan Thompson

Best Man

How We Met: Max and Ryan met in 2nd grade and played on the same sports teams throughout their childhood. After high school, they attended CU Boulder and were roommates for all four years. Ryan's Beige Flag: Loves golf more than anything in the world. What to Expect at the Wedding: An entertaining speech, expecting you to stay up drinking with him until 3 or 4 in the morning.

Alexsus Ferguson

Bridesmaid

How We Met: Ari and Lex met at Chico state in business marketing classes. The two became inseparable bonding over the first job out of college experience at Adobe. Since Ari's room mates were never home, Lex and Ari would have weeknight sleepovers drinking wine and making Trader Joe's dinners. Lex has always been there for the bride. Alexsus' Beige Flags: she hoards thousands of expensive skincare and makeup products that she cannot part with, she causes her friends extreme anxiety with her daredevil tendencies and always has to announce how full she is after a meal or how "work is crazy" throughout the week (two favorites of the groom) What to Expect at the Wedding: Lots of dancing, her speaking Spanish to the local vendors and getting in a workout on wedding day with the bride.

Austin Richardson

Groomsman

How We Met: Max and Austin met in middle school and both attended CU Boulder together where they were roommates during their sophomore and junior year. Austin's Beige Flag: Desperately wants to be an instagram food influencer... he also works way too much. What to Expect at the Wedding: Incredible dance moves, if you want to find him just go to the dance floor.

Corinne Peterson

Bridesmaid

How We Met: Corinne and Ari met in college at Chico state. The two actually did not care much for each other during that time. Via mutual friend Alexsus she was determined to make her two best friends best friends with each other. Like most things Alexsus sets her mind to... this worked and the two are now inseparable. Corinne's Beige Flags: Corinne has the cutest clothes in the friend group... she loves them as much as we do and wears them again and again, she has an obsession with Hawaii and will make you look like a giant if you stand next to her. What to Expect at the Wedding: Nonstop dance moves, requests to the waitstaff for Uni toast and sashimi and her constantly checking her phone for photos from her dog sitter of her Dachshund Bean.

Brandon Williams

Groomsman

How We Met: Max and Brandon met in 1st grade and played on the same sports teams throughout their childhood. They attended different high schools and colleges but have always kept in touch and have lived in the same city at the same time for most of their lives. Brandon's Beige Flag: Used to have his ears pierced (and his cartilage) What to Expect at the Wedding: Lots of good stories both recent and from 10+ years ago, and potentially getting over-served at the open bar.

Mariah Harkey

Bridesmaid

How We Met: Mariah and Ari met in the dorms at Chico state. Because Ari did not care for her room mates, she spent as much time in Mariah's room as she would let her. Ari and Mariah have made countless memories living together for years (and a summer with her parents), going on trips, going to music festivals and surviving the college experience together. Mariah's Beige Flags: She spends way too much time on TikTok and Instagram, is obsessed with online shopping and is never in one place for more than a month. What to Expect at the Wedding: Helping the bride to get the perfect photo, creating funny TikTok videos and being the last one at the hotel bar at closing time.

Trent Sessions

Groomsman

How We Met: Max and Trent met their freshman year of college at CU Boulder. The two of them were both part of Kappa Sigma Fraternity (kinda) while in college. Trent's Beige Flag: Trent loves Colorado Buffaloes football more than anyone, and knows pretty much everything about high school and college football. What to Expect at the Wedding: laidback vibes and letting you know how happy he is that the wedding is on a Friday so he won't miss the CU game.

Lindsey Peters

Bridesmaid

How We Met: Ari and Lindsey met at the Waterfront in Venice about two weeks into Ari and Max's relationship. The two hit it off instantly. Between traveling to Africa, spending weeks in Mexico and spending the entire pandemic together, the two have become super close. Ari is the sister that Lindsey always wanted (even if she didn't know it) ;). Lindsey's Beige Flags: For whatever reason Lindsey loves Gwen Stefani, she spends thousands of dollars each year at Aesop and easily cries over any movie or sentimental birthday card. What to Expect at the Wedding: Happy tears throughout the ceremony and speeches, hands in the air on the dance floor and asking the waitstaff to confirm her meal and passed appetizers are gluten free.

Tyler Gilliland

Groomsman

How We Met: Max and Tyler met their freshman year of college at CU Boulder. The two of them were also part of Kappa Sigma Fraternity while in college, and roommates their senior year. Tyler's Beige Flag: Will tell you he likes to drink and party, but in reality he would rather be eating Sour Patch Kids on the couch watching TV. What to Expect at the Wedding: Good vibes, and in search of the best craft cocktail.

James Christensen

Officiant

James is about to officially be a brother-in-law to both Ari and Max. You can expect an entertaining ceremony with James as the officiant. James' Beige Flags: He is always prepared with a dad joke, he exclusively wears local t shirts from La Jolla businesses and is expected to lose his wallet at least once on every trip. What to Expect at the Wedding: Windmills on the dance floor, the only one drinking Tanqueray gin martinis and a short and funny ceremony.

Jack McKenna

Groomsman

How We Met: Max and Jack met through Jack’s amazing sister-in-law, Ari. Given Audrey and Ari are such close friends, Max and Jack had no choice but to also become best friends. Jack's Beige Flag: Loves Leeds United even though they are terrible every year (that’s a professional soccer team in England if you didn’t know), and says certain words in such a strong British accent that you have no idea what he’s saying (water bottle). What to Expect at the wedding: a massive smile the entire time, eating two plates of dinner during the reception, and potentially doing a terrible job attempting to speak Spanish to the locals.
