Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Lisa Nguyen and Maxwell Mingo

Jesse Mingo

Groomsman

Max was always been like a little brother to me, probably because he is. I was 14 and had 2 sisters and always wanted a brother to mold in my image. But max had cooler hair, skate board tricks and a never ending thirst for adventure that ladies found irresistible. I’m so glad he found someone to share the adventure of life with in Lisa.

Lisa, you were the very first person to pull me into the world of concerts, the loud music, the memories, the energy and I’ll never forget how that opened up a whole new part of my life. You’ve always inspired me to take better care of myself, to work out, to stay active, and to live a healthier, happier life. You push me in the best ways, and somehow you always know how to motivate me without ever making it feel like pressure. I’m so grateful to have you in my life. From our foodie adventures to our heart-to-heart talks, you bring joy, encouragement, and so much fun into everything we do. Thank you for being the friend who cheers me on, laughs with me, and helps me grow. I’m truly lucky to call you one of my closest friends!

Max and I didn’t meet by chance; we were forged in pure chaos, like two forces slamming together at maximum velocity. From day one it was nonstop action—skateboards screaming across cracked pavement, bikes flying down hills like the brakes didn’t exist, and snowboards tearing through mountains where one wrong move meant disaster. We pushed through brutal hikes with shaking legs and frozen lungs, chasing summits like they were trophies, then vanished on road trips with no plan, no sleep, and nothing but endless asphalt and reckless ambition. When the world finally slowed enough to breathe, we crashed hard—watching movies deep into the night, adrenaline still buzzing, already plotting the next escape. Meeting Max wasn’t the beginning of a friendship—it was the ignition of a lifelong thrill ride, fueled by speed, grit, and a refusal to ever live quietly.

Who would have thought that a dance for VSA (Vietnamese Student Association) would lead to a lifetime friendship? I met Lisa when she first moved to Fargo, and I knew she was a keeper the first time we hung out. Since then, we shared amazing meals together on trips, creating chaos working at Huhot, and tackling many exciting adventures together! Lisa is that incredible friend who always encourages me to step outside my comfort zone. I’m so thrilled and honored to be part of her special day and to create even more memories together!

I’m incredibly happy to be part of Max and Lisa’s wedding day. I’ve known Maxwell for many years, and in that time he’s been not only a great friend, but also an amazing uncle and brother-in-law. We’ve been through it all—going to school together in Detroit Lakes, living together, working side-by-side at different jobs, and even traveling to another country. I’m grateful for all the memories we’ve made, and I’m honored to stand by him. Lisa, you’ve got yourself a great guy!

After meeting in PT school and becoming fast friends, I have been so lucky to keep a strong friendship with Lisa! Whether it’s running our first (and several more) marathons together, traveling across Europe, taking a contract in and exploring Alaska together, or just looking for the closest dog to pet, I can always count on Lisa to be down for anything. Getting to know Max and have him join in on all the adventures has only made it better! I’m so grateful for these two and can’t wait to watch them legally bind themselves to pursuing harder and harder endurance races for their lifetime :)

I’ve been “fangirling” over Lisa ever since I was a student at the rehab hospital she worked at in Fargo, ND. That admiration has taken all of us to Hawaii, Alaska, Asia, and so many other incredible places—and ultimately led me to meeting Max! Max shares my love for black coffee, good food, culture, KDOT, running very long distances, & distaste for group chats. He’s the kind of person you want in your corner: trustworthy, attentive, and someone who pushes you beyond what you thought possible! Max brings a vibrant, captivating energy to every adventure & I feel like I’ve known him a lifetime. It is truly an honor to know Max and Lisa—an even greater honor to be part of their special day!

I met Max in middle school in Detroit Lakes, and we instantly bonded over skateboarding. It's literally all we ever did when we were young. We even went to Canada for a day just to go skateboarding. Eventually, we ended up being roommates and coworkers, as if living together wasn't enough. We did a lot of things together, trips to Colorado, Washington, even Ireland! We road tripped from Minnesota to California, skateboarding, snowboarding, camping, hiking, and exploring along the way. Max truly enjoys being in nature and adventuring. As life settles down for us, I'm so glad Max found someone he can continue to explore with. (And slightly jealous of all the places you're getting to explore together) Cheers to the next adventure, Max & Lisa!

I had the pleasure of caravanning out West with Lisa to our first PT school clinical rotation in Idaho. We backpacked to our first Idaho natural hot spring together, experiencing our first time splitboarding in the backcountry, and enjoyed countless hikes and adventures in Idaho and other states. Lisa helped me fall in love with Idaho, which led to me starting a family out here.. and I’d like to think I helped fuel her love of travel.. which is what she and Max have gone on to experience so much of after time together!
