You and anyone else in your party will receive a special MWR Gate Pass in the formal invitation. Navigate to Redstone Arsenal Gate 9, which is the only gate where MWR gate passes work. Once through, navigate to the venue.
YES! We have arranged a shuttle service for guests that do not want to drive onto the arsenal themselves. The shuttle service is through The Westin Hotel at Bridge Street. You do NOT need to be a guest at the Westin to use the shuttle, that is simply the drop off and pick up point. All guests must still have their individual gate passes and ID on their person. Please be aware it is a 12 passenger van.
An MWR Gate pass is a special embossed card that allows guests that do not have access to Redstone Arsenal onto base for the day. It will have the event name and date on the card, and the attendee name will come blank. You must write your name legibly and EXACTLY as it appears on your Driver's License. You will present your pass and license to the gate guard and will be let through. You must not have ANY weapons in your car, even if it is registered. You must not have any illegal substances in you car. THE PASS IS PER PERSON, NOT PER CAR.
The security team at Redstone are very friendly. You will drive up to the open lane, where a guard will be stationed to welcome you to Redstone. Everyone in the car should have their pass and ID ready to hand to the guard. They may ask some basic questions, like where are you heading, what are you here for, etc. If you get stopped for a random search, Do Not Panic! Simply follow the guards instructions and they will make it as quick as possible.
While we love your little ones, we've chosen to keep our wedding an adults-only celebration, with only a few children from immediate family in attendance. We appreciate your understanding.
Parking is a bit limited at The Cliffs. We encourage guests to carpool if possible. A great place to meet up is the parking lots of Redstone Gateway shopping center right outside Gate 9. The lower half of the paring lot requires an uphill walk, so we recommend comfortable shoes.
At this time, no.
You are not required to have a Star ID with MWR gate passes. However, we HIGHLY encourage you to get your Star ID just in case security guidelines change.
If you have trusted traveler status, technically you can escort guests onto base yourself. We recommend having the pass with you anyway just in case.
