We first met online during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but the virus couldn't keep us apart. After a few days of talking on the phone, we met at a cozy Italian restaurant called Mino's in Winnetka, IL. At the time, Maxie lived in downtown Chicago, while Maxx lived in the northern suburbs, but this couldn’t keep us apart. Weekly dates and nightly facetimes quickly turned into parts of our normal schedule. Realizing we loved seeing each other, we added 6:00am gym sessions, more date nights, and travel. It became obvious to us that we were meant to be together. Maxx’s suburban apartment quickly became our first home together. From there, our lives have changed and grown together in the most beautiful way and we’re excited to share our love story and special day with you. Fun Fact: Our date at Mino’s wasn't exactly our first time meeting. In 2008 our paths crossed during a Caribbean cruise. Maxx knew Maxie’s cousin, who was on the cruise too, and they spent the day on the beach together. Maxie's mom took a photo of all the kids playing together which happened to include both Maxie and Maxx. You can find this photo in the Mottlowitz family house, where all their family vacation albums are.
Maxx popped the question at his family's country club on June 11, 2023 and pulled off a surprise to everyone. Now, they both live in downtown Chicago, sharing a rented condo in Lakeshore East neighborhood, along with their 5-year-old Pomchi, Ollie.
