Fells Point is one of our favorite neighborhoods in Baltimore. We recommend walking the cobblestone streets along the water and popping into the cute shops, restaurants, bars, etc. A few of our favorite spots: - Max's Taphouse: Not just a bar with a great name, Max's is a good spot if you want to watch some football games and sample one of their 100+ draft beers. - Pitango: Pitango has both a gelato and a bakery/cafe in Fells. The bakery/cafe has good coffee and breakfast items. We usually use Pitango as our pitstop when we are taking Barrie for a walk along the water; he likes to sit and watch the ducks in the harbor while we refuel with pastries. - Sagamore Pendry: The Pendry is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Fells. It is still worth popping into even if you aren't staying there. They have a great bar and we recommend sitting in The Cannon Room, which has a glass floor section where you can see cannons from decades ago that they recovered from under the pier.
Federal Hill is across the harbor from Canton, Fells Point and Harbor East. If you are staying at the Waterfront Marriott, you can walk along the water through the Inner Harbor and get to Federal Hill. - Federal Hill Park: Walking up the steps to get to the top of Federal Hill Park is worth the effort, it has one of the best panoramic views of the city. It is also great for history buffs, you can see the cannons that once manned Fort Federal Hill during the Civil War. - Cross Street Market: Cross Street Market has gone through a few iterations since it was originally built in the 19th century. It is now home to 22 local businesses and has a wide array of food and drink options, making it perfect for a group.
We have lived in Canton since we moved here 4 years ago. Teagan lived in Canton when she moved to Baltimore right out of college, and when we moved from DC to Baltimore we knew Canton was the right place for us to be. It is less touristy than Fells Point and Federal Hill, but has a a square of bars, restaurants and shops. If you are a coffee lover and willing to wait in a line, Cafe Dear Leon is one of our favorite grab and go breakfast spots in the city.
