One of Sara's favorite stories to tell, the story of how we met. It all started with a bowling alley, some awkward flirting, and a very oblivious Max. One day in class at Gonzaga University, in between teaching pigeons how to peck to a beat, Sara was invited to go bowling by a friend in her lab group. The group going bowling was a few friends of the gal's and her boyfriend and his friends. Once at the bowling alley, Sara spots a lean, brown haired guy and asks her friend, "hey, who is that guy?" Her friend responds, "Oh, that's Max! He likes video games. You'd like him." And that was all Sara needed to hear. She went up into the lane next to him, made eye contact and said, "hi! We should like, bowl at the same time." To which Max promptly looked away, saying nothing, and proceeded to do his turn on his own. The two did not speak for the rest of the bowling party. If you ask Max, "why didn't you say anything?" He would say "I didn't think she was talking to me. And, I was in the zone." Fortunately for them both, they met later that day at a housewarming party and Sara wasn't taking being completely ignored for an answer.
