Question

What should I wear to the wedding? Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that you wear semi-formal attire, and the wedding will be held outdoors, so think garden party vibes! Mid-length and long dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or suits with or without ties are all great options. It’s the perfect excuse to wear that outfit you’ve been saving—the one sitting in your closet waiting for the right event. As the ceremony and reception will be held on grass, we kindly recommend choosing footwear suitable for natural terrain—such as block heels, wedges, dressy flats, or dress shoes with a sturdy sole. A light jacket or wrap is advisable, as temperatures may cool in the evening.

Question

How do I get to the wedding? Is parking provided?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both take place at Jonamac Orchard, located at 19412 Shabbona Rd, Malta, IL 60150. There is ample free parking available right on-site, just steps away from the event area. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to park, walk over, and get settled before the festivities begin.

Question

Where should I stay for the wedding?

Answer

We recommend booking accommodations near Jonamac Orchard for your convenience. There are several hotels and inns within a 15-20 minute drive in the nearby towns of DeKalb and Sycamore. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at Home2 Suites. Please visit our “Accommodations” page, for the link to reserve a room in the hotel block. If you need assistance or recommendations, feel free to reach out!

Question

What is the weather plan for the wedding?

Answer

Since the wedding will be held outdoors at Jonamac Orchard, we’ll keep a close eye on the weather as the date approaches. In case of rain or extreme weather, the ceremony and reception will be moved to a nearby covered area or indoor space at the venue to ensure everyone stays comfortable and safe. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket just in case. We’ll also communicate any weather-related updates to guests via email or text on the day of the event.
