Mehendi Night

Wear comfortable loose clothing, do not wear heels .

It will be an evening of pre-wedding celebrations between our joint families. We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone. The bride's arms and feet will be adorned with henna in an intricate designs. There will be singing, dancing, and evening that is dedicated for both our family and friends to get to know and learn about each other.

Vivah Sanskar

The wedding ceremony commences. Vivah: give in marriage or to marry. Sanskar : To give in values The main rituals for a Hindu wedding will be listed accordingly. 1. Kanyadaan where the bride is given away by the father to the groom. The father asks the groom to not fail the bride in his pursuit of dharma (moral and lawful life), artha (wealth) and kama (love). The groom promises to the bride's father that he shall never fail her in his pursuit of dharma, artha and kama. 2.The ritual of Panigrahana comes after Kanyadaan. wherein a symbolic fire is lit by the groom to mark the start of a new household. Panigrahana is the 'holding the hand' ritual[3] as a symbol of the bride and groom’s impending marital union, with the groom acknowledging a responsibility to four deities 3. Saptapadi means "Seven steps" the newlywed couple take seven steps around the holy fire, that is called Saptapadi. After the seventh step, the couple legally become husband and wife.
