We met on May 22, 2022 at the wedding of a mutual friend. Max kept coming over to my table to chat throughout the evening. He also later told me that he kept waiting for a slow song so he could ask me to dance. An opportunity did not present itself. Instead we exchanged Instagrams. About a week later, Max invited me to 2 events: a party that his aunt was having and his brother, Rex’s, graduation party. I was only able to go to the graduation party. At the party, I met both of his parents but barely talked to Max. Over the course of about a year, we remained Instagram friends and would have the occasional message exchange. Nothing that would indicate to the other that there might have been a little crush. Fast forward to August 11, 2023. We were reunited at the Regional Convention. Max kept interacting with my convention posts on my Instagram story but we didn’t talk in person. I really wanted him to talk to me so, I messaged him and said “always liking my stories 👀”. Immediately the conversation was flowing. The final day of the convention we talked up until the morning session started. I was so focused that I was holding all of my things the whole time. I didn’t even have a seat saved so I had to scramble to find a seat right before it started. We haven’t stop talking since. 🤍 Marissa
