HOW WE MET

new jersey meets florida in nevada

The story of us meeting is one of very minimal probability. A dating app; Bumble to be exact. For those that know, dating apps can be a black hole of nothing. However, this time was quite different. The initial conversation started like most; likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc. Kayleigh mentioned she liked golf and was on her golf team in high school. For me that was all I needed to hear, I was ready to ask her out. This is where I first noticed the South in her. I asked, “We can either do sushi or a steakhouse, you choose” to which she replied, “I’m from the South, I’m a meat and potatoes kinda girl.” Now for the first date. I got there early (as I do everywhere) and scuffed my brand-new white shoes (as I would do every time). As I was cleaning my new shoes outside, this beautiful southern belle walks up in a gorgeous black dress. I think you could see on my face that I knew I hit the jackpot. The dinner was just as you would suspect. Good food and laughing the entire time. It was almost like the night could go on for hours and neither would know the time. We were both locked into each other like magnets. The next couple dates to follow were just as good as the first. A movie (I am not allowed to pick movies anymore), dinners, a rodeo, and our first trip together; New Orleans for our birthday. Kayleigh was born March 26th and I was born March 22nd, so we now have one co-birthday (Kayleigh is thrilled). This helped us discover our biggest passion together, traveling. Our passion for traveling and seeing new things will be forever something we share and do together. Fast forward (almost) 4 years and we now have a cat, a dog, a house together, and are planning a wedding! Through all the good and bad, one thing has remained constant in our relationship. The huge amount of love we have for each other. Everyday begins with a “Good morning” and ends with an “I love you”. We both know how fortunate we are to have each other forever and never take it for granted. -Max
