Where is the ceremony/reception?

Answer

Both will be held at The Brook, located at 3480 Benedict Road, Marengo, OH 43334. The venue provides two golf carts for accessibility to and from the ceremony site and reception/on-site lodging. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors!

What does the lodging situation look like?

Answer

There are both on-site rooms and hotel rooms available about a 20 minute drive south of the venue on I-71. We are looking at blocking rooms at the Hampton Inn, and feel free to book your own accommodations if you prefer! The website to book on-site rooms is located here: https://thebrookvenue.com/lodging When you book online, reach out to either of us and we can give you the promo code to access available rooms. Rooms here are spread across a few different cabins, with some being able to accommodate up to 10 people. Prices are per room, not per guest. If all else fails, there's good ole' fashioned roughing it with available campground space on-site. Just watch out for the wolves. And spiders. And wolf-spiders.

What should I wear?

Answer

This is a semi-formal event, with the color scheme consisting of darker greens and black. Feel free to match (or not) as we are not following any spring theme!

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

The average high temperature in Ohio this time of year is in the mid 60's, with night time temps falling to the low 50's/upper 40's. Please be prepared for the weather to fluctuate. We will update closer to time what the expected weather conditions will be day of.

What kind of food and drinks will be served?

Answer

We are catering Schmidt's Sausage Haus for appetizers and dinner. If you have special dietary concerns/allergies, please reach out to the bride or groom and we will make sure there are options available for you! Reception is planned for 6-10pm, where you freeloaders will have a chance to consume a selection of beer, cocktails, and wine. Water and a few sodas will be available as well. For desert, we will be serving homemade ice cream from the Maid of Honor!

Are kids and plus-ones welcome?

Answer

While we love children, this will be a child-free wedding. The only children that will be present will be those in close relation to the bride and groom. All others smuggled in will be sent to the nearby mines for hard labor. You will be able to pick them up at a later date. Maybe. Plus-ones are encouraged! When you get the formal RSVP, please indicate if you'd like to bring one guest of your choice.
