Here at Kirkland & Ellis, we’re colleagues for life! During the pandemic, it wasn’t obvious that our beshert was waiting in our law firm’s zoom summer meet the associates bingo game. But Max saw Jenny. A couple months after the summer program, fate intervened, they matched on Hinge, and had a FaceTime date the following week! Then, they were supposed to go on a walk around Lincoln Park, but the rain kept them inside. After six weeks apart over Covid Thanksgiving, Jenny and Max had their first real date—watching Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve together. From then, they saw each other every week. Their first destination date was to the Field Museum. Then the vaccine came along and society returned. They studied for the bar, passed, and then started work together. Right after starting, they took a weekend away to Door County, WI—it’s the most romantic getaway in the Midwest. After a weekend exploring the parks, having cider, and discovering the thrills of live agriculture, they knew there was no one else but each other! It’s been so special being able to start work as lawyers together, and to be by each others’ side as they’ve started on this path. Max and Jenny can’t wait to share their wedding day with you!
