The first time that Max planned to propose we were going to Venice Beach CA for a a day of relaxation, but I invited two of our friends so his plans were delayed. His second plan was to take me to a nice Italian place in Los Feliz, but I was craving pancakes so I sold hard for Denny's. He adamantly refused and was eventually able to talk me into going to the fancy restaurant. After dinner he reached across the table, to hold my hand, and when I took his hand he put the ring in my palm and said, "I think its time we got married." I replied confidently, "Yes, me too." It was a quintessential "us" moment: no frills, no fuss, just honest and beautiful. After the ring was on my finger Max said, "If I wasn't able to talk you into this nice restaurant, you would have gotten a ring in your pancake bites." I still would have said "Yes".
