Amtrak trains to Penn Station are available from DC/CT/MA/NY areas.

Flight

LGA/JFK/EWR

Flights are available into JFK, LGA, or EWR! LGA is generally more convenient. From the airport, cabs and ride shares are the most direct way into the city. Wait in the TAXI line outside the terminal and do NOT accept rides from people offering or "taxi drivers" that are not in yellow cabs. There is a lot of construction at JFK so factor in extra time when departing.
