I met Max within minutes after arriving in Wausau from Sheboygan for college. Max was my landlord, and when he knocked on my door, the first thought that came into my head was, “What an ugly orange shirt.” Max claims his first thought was, “Wow, she’s cute.” We were both living in the worst hotel in town, waiting for the new apartment building to be finished, and we ran into each other quite frequently. For awhile, I thought nothing of him, other than he was the mean guy trying to keep all of the students from doing the stupid things they do when they first move to college. Without even realizing it, we became best friends. One night when my roommate Beth and I were talking, I remember telling her I had a huge crush on Max and that I didn't know what to do! Months later I found out he had felt the same way for a long time, and so we started dating. On our first date we went to the movie theater and watched two movies back to back. One was so terrible, we laughed all the way through it; something we will never forget! Over the next couple months, we grew closer to each other and...fell in love! We’ve had many adventures together! I quickly discovered Max's love for shoes and even went with him to Sneaker Con in Chicago. One Saturday, Max and I decided to go on a day trip somewhere. We found a water park online and after driving two hours, came upon a children’s water park!! We spent the day playing arcade games and riding go karts with children, later spending our tickets on a ladybug umbrella and four boxes of candy that melted in the car. It didn’t matter what Max and I were doing, we had so much fun because we were best friends. Before I knew it we were ring shopping together, and on November 11th, 2018, on Rib Mountain, Max asked me to marry him. Now we are on our way to spending the rest of our lives together!
