We met awkwardly in the front hallway of the JCC in spring of 2012, courtesy of Deb Goldberg. A friendship blossomed on the deck of the Camp JCC pool while Mike wrangled small people into bathing suits and Sara tried to teach them how to swim. The fun continued indoors at the JCC, teaching preschool as work spouses and having many friendly post-work meals at Red Robin. In April 2017, on one such outing, Mike asked, "so...what are we doing here?" Sara replied: "I'M having a hamburger. What are YOU doing?" That was not ideal. But! A week or so later, she decided she wanted MORE than a hamburger, and so the dating began. Once he had decided to "buy the cow," Mike spoke to the cow's parents to ask for their blessing, which they gladly gave. On Thanksgiving of 2018, back at her house after a lovely family meal, Mike waited for Sara to leave the room so he could slyly place an aqua ring box on her pillow for her to find when she returned. And, so, it was decided: MAWWIAGE. It's happening. April 14, 2019.
