Question

Where do we go on wedding day?

Answer

Churchill Downs is located at 700 Central Avenue, Louisville KY. You will want to enter the parking lot from Longfield Ave or Central Ave. You will enter through the Executive Gate on the far left where you will check in for the wedding and be escorted to the ceremony location.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, parking in the Churchill Downs parking lot is free. There will be plenty of people directing you. If you need assistance, you can be picked up from your car and taken by cart to the front gates.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a shuttle from the Marriott Downton to Churchill Downs prior to the ceremony and back to the hotel after the reception. The shuttle bus will run from 12:30pm-11:30pm.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests will be allowed to enter the ceremony location at 4pm. Please arrive promptly as the ceremony will start at 4:30pm

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. We ask our guests to follow a semi-formal dress code for our event. Jeans are not allowed. As we are on a rooftop, we do recommend bringing a light jacket

Are races happening during the wedding?

Answer

YES! Currently, races are set to begin at 12:45pm. We invite our guests to enjoy the races until the ceremony begins at 4:20pm. The final races will run during cocktail hour and there will be chances to watch and bet on these races in the reception location. If you choose to enjoy races prior to the ceremony, you will need to purchase a general admissions ticket and enter through Churchill's main gates. If you arrive at 4pm for the ceremony, you may enter through the executive gate and escorted to the ceremony space at no charge. General Admission runs between $5-$10

Can I bring a date?

We have already extended invitations to plus one’s. If you believe there has been a mistake, please let us know and we may reconsider.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please alert us to your food allergy as soon as possible so we can work with our caterer.

Answer

Please check the registration tab on our website. We are also registered at Amazon and Target

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Louisville has many historic hotels that are great locations to stay. We do have hotel blocks at a few hotels that can be found on the travel page but also recommend The Omni or the historic Brown Hotel
