Come celebrate with us!

We met at a little coffee shop at 37 E. 8th St., NYC in 2016. Maurice had just been promoted to manager there, and Briana had just returned to school from her study abroad program. Our mutual friend Dylan, who worked with Maurice and went to school with Briana, introduced us - but he didn't tell us we were a perfect match. We figured that out ourselves, after being acquaintances for two years. In August 2018 on a Tuesday, Maurice asked Briana out on a date for that Friday. On Wednesday, he asked her if she was available on Thursday instead, because he was too excited to wait for Friday. She was too excited to wait for Friday too. So on Thursday, August 23, 2018, they went out on their first date, and discovered that without a doubt, they had found their person. We count that first date as our anniversary, because we absolutely knew we were in love then and there. We didn't tell each other until six months later, but we both knew. That date is so special to us that we got officially engaged on August 23, 2021, and plan to seal the deal on August 23, 2022. We have been through so many storms of life together, and each one has shown us that we have found the person to keep us going through every storm to come in life. We are both in awe of how sweet love is. We have so much to celebrate that we simply cannot have one normal wedding. We want to gather our loved ones together to share rest, joy, and connection.
