A New Orleans–style cocktail reception is a lively, social celebration inspired by the city’s festive culture. Instead of a formal seated dinner, guests are invited to grab food from food stations and enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. You are welcome to find any spot to eat and mingle rather than dining at assigned tables. In other words, when you arrive, the party has already started!
A New Orleans Second Line is a celebratory, brass band-led street parade rooted in African American and Caribbean tradition, where the "first line" (band/family) is followed by a dancing "second line" of spectators. Originating from jazz funerals, these parades now celebrate life, weddings, and community events, often featuring umbrellas and handkerchiefs. The ceremony will be a Catholic Mass that starts promptly at 5:30pm, please arrive early.
Formal attire! The reception is largely indoors with some outdoor patio space available. Cocktail dresses, floor length dresses, suits, and tuxes are all welcome.
We invite you to RSVP on our website by February 6, 2026.
For guests within driving distance of the venue, there is free street parking available. Unfortunately, neither location provides parking.
If your invitation states, "and guest," then yes, you may bring a guest with you. We will only be able to accommodate the number of people that we have included on your invitation.
While we love kids, we've decided to have an adults-only celebration
We will not have transportation from the hotels to the ceremony. The ceremony, located at Our Lady of Good Counsel, is a quick streetcar or Lyft/Uber ride away from the hotels. Following the ceremony, the reception is 1.3 miles away from the church, so a quick drive or Lyft/Uber.
